Claire Sagan is an assistant professor of political theory at Vassar College. She is currently finishing her book, “Beyond Utopia,” which engage temporality in our context of ecological catastrophes, arguing that capitalist temporalities subject humans and many nonhumans to a destructive normative-temporal regime Sagan calls “uchronia.” Sagan also works on the Nietzschean notion of eternal return and its pertinence for today’s eco-catastrophic context.
