Daniel Karpowitz

Daniel Karpowitz is Director of National Programs for the Bard Prison Initiative and lecturer in Law and Humanities at Bard College. Having previously worked as a housing desegregation lawyer in Chicago and on the faculty of the University of Berkeley Rhetoric department, Daniel is also cofounder of the Consortium for the Liberal Arts in Prison, an organization dedicated to supporting college-in-prison programs throughout the country. He was a Soros Justice Fellow at the Open Society Institute, a Fellow at the National Endowment for the Humanities, and a Fulbright Fellow in Kathmandu, Nepal. icon
