Deni Ellis Béchard is the author of five books: Vandal Love, winner of the Commonwealth Writers Prize; Cures for Hunger, a memoir about his father, who robbed banks; Of Bonobos and Men, winner of the Nautilus Book Award for investigative journalism; Kuei, a book of nonfiction that he cowrote about racism against First Nations people in Canada. He recently published Into the Sun, a novel about the civilian surge in Afghanistan.
