Dorothea E. von Mücke is Professor of Germanic Languages at Columbia University and the author, most recently, of The Practices of the Enlightenment: Aesthetics, Authorship and the Public (2015). While her research primarily focuses on the European Enlightenment, she is also interested in literature’s relationship to the visual arts.
