Elizabeth Tandy Shermer is an assistant professor in Loyola University Chicago’s history department. Her work on American political economy has appeared online, in scholarly journals, and in books, including her 2013 Sunbelt Capitalism: Phoenix and the Transformation of American Politics. She is currently researching the financial underpinnings of American higher education.
