Jane Gallop is Distinguished Professor of English and Comparative Literature at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, where she coordinates the program in Literature and Cultural Theory. She has written on a wide range of topics including psychoanalysis, feminism, the Marquis de Sade, feminist literary criticism, queer theory, and close reading. Her most recent book is The Deaths of the Author: Reading and Writing in Time (2011).
