Lindsay Waters
Lindsay Waters earned his PhD in 1976 at the University of Chicago with a dissertation on Byron and the Renaissance Italian epic. He was an editor at University of Minnesota Press from 1979 to 1984, and has been Executive Editor for the Humanities at Harvard University Press since 1984. He is the author of “Paul de Man: Life and Works” (1989), an introduction to de Man’s Critical Writings, 1953–1978, and Enemies of Promise: Publishing, Perishing, and the Eclipse of Scholarship (2004), which has been translated into four languages.
