Lyn Hejinian is a professor of English at the University of California, Berkeley. Her books include The Beginner, The Book of a Thousand Eyes, A Border Comedy, The Fatalist, My Life, and Saga/Circus; she has also translated several books by the Soviet poet Arkadii Dragomoschenko and has been elected a chancellor the Academy of American Poets.
