Patrick Sharkey is the author of Uneasy Peace: The Great Crime Decline, the Renewal of City Life, and the Next War on Violence, to be published in January 2018. He is chair of NYU’s Sociology Department and is affiliated with NYU’s Wagner School for Public Service and Crime Lab New York.
