Reed McConnell is a writer, translator, and anthropology PhD student at the University of Chicago, where her research focuses on environmental contamination and postapocalyptic imaginaries in Imperial Valley, California. Her writing has appeared in The Point, Cabinet, and The Baffler, among other publications.
