Suzy Hansen is an American journalist and editor. She is a contributing writer for The New York Times Magazine, and has written about foreign affairs for publications such as the London Review of Books, Vogue, Bookforum, and The Baffler. Her first book about America’s role in the Middle East, Notes on a Foreign Country, will be published on August 15, 2017, by Farrar, Straus and Giroux. In 2007, Hansen was awarded a writing fellowship from the Institute of Current World Affairs to move to Istanbul, where she still lives.
