In this conversation, Public Books section editor Bécquer Seguín will talk with Carina del Valle Schorske about starting to write for a broad audience, how to navigate public writing during graduate school, and what academics can learn from writers.


Carina del Valle Schorske is a writer, poet, and translator, as well as a doctoral candidate in comparative literature at Columbia University. A contributing writer for New York Times Magazine, her debut essay collection, The Other Island, is forthcoming from Riverhead Books.
